Young Life and Superman

What’s that in the air?

Not a bird or a plane, but the latest Superman movie. Warner Brothers has generously donated to help send kids to camp this summer, and we’re super grateful (see what we did there?)!

If you go to the movie this weekend — preferably with some Young Life kids — here are a few questions you may want to ask on the way home:

  • Superman wrestles with who he is — both Kryptonian and human. Have you struggled with who you are? What does God say about that?
  • Superman is often unsure about revealing his true self. What are ways you feel this?
  • Despite all his power, Superman still feels fear, love, and doubt. What does that say about emotions and vulnerability?
  • Superman is often a “symbol of hope.” Where do you find hope when life feels dark or uncertain?
  • How does the idea of sacrifice in the movie tie to what God says about real life? What about our longing for someone to come help us?
