Orienting You to Communications

As we seek to help keep you connected to the rhythm of what’s going on in the mission, we’re trying some new ways of communicating about Young Life.

Google Workspace

Young Life is transitioning to Google Workspace Enterprise Plus which includes Gmail, Calendar, Drive/Shared Drives, and related Google tools. Currently, about 1,000 users in U.S. Camping, Development, and Information Services have already migrated to Google. Staff in Africa, Mission Services, MCYM, and any user with a Young Life-issued email will be transitioning to Google workspace in June.

The New Online Giving Experience

In March 2026, we announced the beginnings of a significant update to our online giving platform. As of May 2026, we are continuing to make this the best experience possible with additional donor testing and back-end technical improvements.

Credit Card Processing Information Form Update

As Young Life moves to a new online giving experience, we are also updating our mailed-in donation forms. All mailed-in credit card forms must include the card verification value (CVV). Don’t wait. Start now.

Want new forms? Buy or print new forms here.

Please avoid using your current forms. In order to avoid potential transaction failures and loss of revenue, please refrain from using old forms.

While giving online is our encouraged donation and payment method, we know many still use these forms. To avoid any disruption in processing funds, start using the updated forms today.

FAQ:

  • What is a CVV Code? A credit card verification value is a 3-digit (Visa, Mastercard, Discover) or 4-digit (American Express) number on the back or front of a credit card for additional payment security.
  • Is a CVV the same thing as a CVC or CID? Yes, card verification values (Visa or Discover), card verification codes (Mastercard), and card identification numbers (American Express or Discover) are the same, differing by company.
  • Why should I do this now? Because change takes time. We want to be proactive in this principle so no gifts are lost when the new site launches.
  • Why does online giving affect mailed-in forms? Because upgrading the site required a new income processor affecting all gifts — online and mailed-in.
  • What happens if a donor sends a form that is missing CVV? Our mail processing center, CDS, will not be able to process the gift. They will provide details of these forms back to Young Life’s revenue processing team, and our team will contact the area staff to alert them of the missing, necessary information. It will then be the responsibility of the area to contact their donors for Young Life to reprocess the gift.
  • What about existing recurring donations? Do donors need to update their information? Existing recurring donations will continue processing as normal and do not require any action from donors. This applies to recurring gifts originally set up online or through mailed-in forms. No disruption is expected for currently active recurring donations.
  • When will the new site launch? The new online giving experience is delayed. We are testing thoroughly and refining thoughtfully. Thank you for your patience and participation while we get it right.
  • What are some best practices my area can utilize? First, stop using old mail-in credit card forms immediately and start using the new ones. Additionally, encourage donors to use online giving versus mail-in forms. Online is more secure and results in much faster processing of the gift for you and your donors.
