In the latest chapter of The RELATE Project — a study conducted by Young Life of over 7,200 adolescents around the globe — we feature more helpful findings about Gen Z. Here are a few:

  • Worthy of Being Loved: We look into the idea of self-concept, which can basically be described as: I like myself; I believe I’m worthy of being loved; I’m proud of something I’ve accomplished; and I can make a difference the in the lives of others.
  • How They Want Others to See Them: In other words, what do they want to be known for? Here’s a hint – it’s more about the identity they can control/choose over the identity they’re born into.
  • Creating or Scrolling: Almost a quarter of teens and young adults report “spending all or most of their time online” posting or creating content. What motivates this? How can they balance this pressure with healthy social media time?

For more findings and to share the study with volunteers, parents, or others in your community, sign up for The RELATE Project if you haven’t yet (if you have, check your email), and watch the chapter three video below.
