YL Connect Volunteers

Young Life is thankful for the many volunteers who serve in various roles to introduce kids to Jesus Christ and help them grow in their faith. As volunteers choose to serve, our mission requires us to keep track of who is serving so that we have an accurate list of volunteers associated with the ministry of Young Life. This helps us ensure that volunteers complete the required screening and allows for effective communication, training and encouragement of these vital partners.

Beginning November 13, 2023, we’re transitioning to a new volunteer management process within YL Connect. To ensure accurate volunteer counts for your area, you will need to enter all volunteers (leaders, committee, and others) into YL Connect Volunteers by January 31, 2024, with ongoing maintenance each month.

This new process will give us:

• Enhanced tracking of volunteer data, including ministry type, and specific ministry involvement as well as ways to display data visually for areas, regions and divisions.

• Visibility to a volunteer’s ministry history, where they’ve served and in what roles.

• Global alignment as all Young Life volunteers worldwide will be integrated into the same platform. International Young Life field staff have been using YL Connect for volunteer management for the past year.

• Improved accuracy in volunteer counts, leading to better support for volunteer needs aligned with our mission.

• The first step towards paving a way to allow volunteers to work within a dedicated volunteer version of YL Connect.
